My mother moved into the Keene house in America. She is fine. It's a beautiful location and it's beautiful. All the people I have met so far are excellent. Their main goal was to support the residents there. What I like about it is that they have so many daily activities for all residents. They have their indoor theater, parlor, small arts area and bingo and my mom loves bingo so she enjoys it. It's cool. They have a library there that people can use. The activities and what they offer are simply excellent. I don't have to worry about mom. The sisters take care of them. All the people who work in this facility have one goal in mind and that is to make them, like my mother, very happy and so on. When I first walked into this place I was just blown away. It's excellent. It was a blessing. It so happened that they had an opening and I was able to get my mother in there. It was fantastic. They give them a monthly magazine and in that magazine they have activities throughout the month and they usually probably do at least five activities a day. In the morning they have breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. From there they go to their little exercise at 9:30 am. At 10:30 they have a coffee hour. It's just great. From there they go to lunch. Then they usually have other activities, either cornhole or balloon volleyball. They have shuffleboards. They usually have two films, a matinee and another later in the evening. It takes about an hour and a half. You have a nice place and everything is there. Mom can get her hair done or she can get a manicure and a massage. It's unreal. They have a bus and they go to the nearest malls and if she needs to go to the doctor they take her straight to the doctor and that's no problem. Everything is taken care of. Everything is planned for them. I can't say enough about it. Everyone I spoke to was so polite and kind, and they had one goal in mind, to take care of the residents. She likes to do karaoke and she loves country western music and she has her own machine so they're going to set that up. Everyone wants her to get that because everyone looks forward to singing. Mom has coordinated with the activity advisor and everything is cool. mom loves it. I met the chef. You have great food. My brother and I have eaten six or seven meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner and it's good. It is wonderful. It's an old mill they rebuilt and they kept the theme the same size throughout the windows so the addon was the same theme and everything else. It's nice. They keep everyone going and that's a good thing. The whole purpose of assisted living, I think, is to keep them busy. For what they do, provide and offer, to my knowledge it is the best deal in the area for your money. Best bang for your buck, really, as far as I'm concerned.(read less)
