Google's At a Glance widget shows you the current weather conditions and upcoming events from your Google Calendar in one convenient spot right at the top of your home screen. On Pixel phones, however, this widget is permanently embedded in the launcher, so you can't just long-press it to remove it.
In fact, there aren't any settings in Pixel Launcher that allow you to remove the At a Glance widget. This leaves you with only two options: install a root app that can modify Pixel Launcher, or switch to a different home screen app. Anyway, I think you'll be pretty happy with the results once you've taken a little time to follow these steps.

Method 1: Switch to a custom launcher
This might be a bitter pill to swallow, but unless your Pixel is rooted, your only option is to change your home screen app. If you're interested, you should know that all Pixel phones are easy to root. I would even say they arebest phones to root.

1: Set Lawnchair as the default home screen
But if rooting isn't an option, you'll be glad to know that there's a Pixel Launcher clone with lots of customization features called Lawnchair 2. It's the faithful recreation of Pixel's default home screen app - more than that, in factCustomized pixel launcher, which is another great option - and you can even keep the Google Discover feed on the far left of the home screen page. To try it out, simply install the app from the link above, then open your Pixel's main Settings app. From there, tap on "Apps & notifications", then select "Advanced" and then "Default apps". On the following screen, select "Home App" and then select Lawnchair from the list. Congratulations, you just changed your default home screen app!
2: Remove the At a Glance widget.
The app comes with an imitation version of the At a Glance widget, but you can just long-press it, then drag it to the top of the screen and drop it on the "Remove" option to get rid of it. Now your home screen should look pretty close to what you originally wanted, but there's one more step.
3: Activate the Google Discover feed
For the Google Discover feed, long-press an empty spot on your new home screen and select "Home Settings." From there, select âPluginsâ and then tap on âView Google App Feedâ. Then tap on "Retrieve lawn fodder" in the pop-up.
You will now be taken to a website where you can download a plugin for Lawnchair. From here, tap the blue "Get Lawnfeed" button, then press "OK" on the file type warning that appears below in Chrome.
Now open your notification shade and tapDownload completeNotification for the Lawnfeed APK. Next, most users will be greeted with a system dialog stating that Chrome cannot install this app. From here, tap on âSettingsâ.
On the next screen, turn on the switch next to the "Install other apps" permission for Google Chrome, then press "OK" to confirm your choice. Now perform the back gesture or tap the back button to return to this system dialog. This time tap âInstallâ.
Now go back toPluginsmenu in the Lawnchair's settings and re-enable the switch next to "Show Google App Feed". When you're done, go to your home screen and swipe to the left - you'll now see the Google Discover feed!
Method 2: Use a Magisk module (root required)
If you're dying to keep the stock Pixel Launcher but still want to get rid of the At A Glance widget, developerseden gonzaleshas exactly the mod for you. Of course you have to be rooted withMagicinstalled to use this method.

1: Download files
First you need to download two files: an APK and a Magisk module. The files are different for the different pixels out there, so start by tapping the link with your model's name below.

2: Install the APK
Next, open your notification shade and tapDownload completeNotification for Pixel Launcher Editor app. Assuming you already have itInstall other appsIf you have Chrome permission enabled, simply tap "Install" on the popup to install the app on your system.
3: Install the Magisk module
Now open your Magisk Manager app and tap on the puzzle piece icon in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen to go to the appModuleTab. From here, tap "Install from Storage" and then navigate to your Downloads folder to select the Pixel Launcher ZIP file. The installation will start immediately and when it's done, go ahead and tap "Restart".
4: Install Substratum Lite
Next, go to the Play Store and grab the free Substratum Lite app.

Open it and tap "Grant" on the superuser access request. From there, you'll be greeted by an initial setup guide. If you think you might want to use this app to theme other apps in the future, I recommend turning on the "Substratum Design Compatibility Mode" toggle during this setup tour.
5: Configure the theme
Now open Substratum Lite (it will simply be called "Lite" in your app drawer) and tap "Pixel Launcher Editor" on the main page.subjectsTab. From there, tap on theGrid4x5Drop-down menu at the top of the screen and select "Grid5x5". Leave the check box to the right unchecked.
Also, leave the Android System section alone and disabled. However, check the box next to "Pixel Launcher," then tap "Icon & At A Glance Options." Here, scroll to the bottom of the list and select "RemoveAtAGlance".
6: Install the theme
From here, tap the "1 Selected" button at the bottom of the screen, then choose "Install Selected". When that's done, restart your phone again.
7: Apply the theme
Finally, reopen the Substratum Lite app (labeled "lite" in your app drawer) and switch toManagerTab. Here, check the box next to "Pixel Launcher," then tap the "1 Selected" button and choose "Enable Selected." Go ahead and restart your phone one last time.
